Kyron Cartwright is an American college basketball coach and former professional point guard who currently serves as the Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Hampton University Pirates.

As a player, Cartwright signed with Alba Fehérvár of the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság on July 18, 2018. Cartwright averaged 9.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals in 13 NB I/A games and 6.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.1 steals in nine FIBA Europe Cup games.

On a journey of helping young men build a foundation in life while assisting them in following their dreams.

I’ve had a lot of people come into my life through basketball who made a real impact on me and helped change my life. My goal is to do the same for young men by helping them build a strong foundation, find a sense of community and purpose, and continue developing their skills through basketball.

College Playing Career

NCAA Tournaments: As a player, led the Providence Friars to the NCAA tournament in all four of his collegiate seasons.

All-Conference Honors: Earned Second-Team All-Big East honors and was named the Big East Most Improved Player for the 2016–17 season.

All-Time Ranks: Finished his collegiate career 3rd all-time in program history with 646 assists.

Professional Playing Career

Cartwright played three seasons of professional basketball overseas:

Hungary (2018–2019): Played for Alba Fehérvár in the Hungarian NB I/A and the FIBA Europe Cup.

United Kingdom (2019–2020): Played for the Leicester Riders in the British Basketball League, notably recording a career-high 19 assists in a single game.

Germany (2020–2021): Spent his final season of professional play with Phoenix Hagen in the ProA league.

Coaching Career

Transitioning to coaching in 2021, Cartwright worked his way up through various support and assistant positions:

2021–2022: High school assistant coach at St. Thomas Academy (MN) and NCAA DII assistant at Minnesota Crookston.

2022–2023: Special Assistant to the Head Coach (Ed Cooley) at his alma mater, Providence College.

2023–2024: Followed Coach Cooley to the Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball program as the Video and Social Media Coordinator.

2024–Present: Joined Hampton University under head coach Ivan Thomas, where he was promoted to Offensive Coordinator ahead of the 2025–26 season, helping significantly boost the team's offensive efficiency ratings.
