THE WORK

Bryant Johnson

Bryant Johnson founded International Player Services (IPS) to bring structure, coordination, and long-term strategy to the international student-athlete pathway while also expanding professional opportunities for American athletes pursuing careers overseas.

After spending more than 15 years working inside NCAA athletic departments in communications and broadcasting roles, Bryant shifted his focus toward the evolving intersection of education, athletics, documentation, and international mobility following the Supreme Court's 2021 Alston v. NCAA decision.

His work centers on helping internationally developed student-athletes navigate the complex areas most likely to impact successful enrollment in the United States, including:

  1. Academic continuity
  2. Eligibility-readiness
  3. Visa-readiness
  4. Cross-border documentation
  5. Long-term athlete development strategy

Underlying the work is a phrase Bryant has carried with him for years:

"Tell the People's Story."

Since 2021, Bryant has traveled extensively throughout Africa, Europe, and South America while building relationships across sport, education, legal, and cultural institutions.

His international work began in 2021 after joining a cultural delegation to South Africa organized by the New Orleans-based Batiste family, which includes Grammy Award-winning artist Jon Batiste.

During that trip, he met leaders connected to NBA Africa, Basketball Without Borders, and the Basketball Africa League, including Amadou Gallo Fall. The experience became a catalyst for a broader international mission centered on global athlete access and opportunity.

Since then, Bryant has returned to Africa multiple times and has coordinated international readiness strategies involving athletes, universities, legal counsel, and educational systems across several countries.

In 2025, he spent five months in Africa coordinating Stephanie Okechukwu's transition to the United States while working alongside international legal and advisory partners. He was also present in Lagos, Nigeria when Stephanie received her U.S. visa on December 31, 2025.

Alongside IPS, Bryant also developed The Immeasurable Path, a design studio focused on Executive Digital Portfolios for athletes, students, and creatives.

Since 2021, he has helped design more than 1,000 portfolios and 2,000 highlight reels aimed at helping individuals present themselves professionally for global opportunities.

Bryant also expanded the Women's Basketball Alliance (WBA) YouTube channel into one of the most-viewed independent women's basketball media archives online, generating more than 20 million views and building a global audience of more than 26,000 subscribers.

Collaborations with international scouting figures, including Dan Bowmaker of Blue Star Europe, helped establish relationships across the international basketball landscape and opened the door to many of IPS' early global opportunities.

Bryant's background includes roles at multiple NCAA institutions, including Virginia Tech, where he served as the Voice of Hokie Women's Basketball and Baseball while contributing to digital storytelling and athlete-focused media initiatives.

Today, IPS operates as an international advisory and coordination group focused on building organized, lawful, and strategically prepared pathways for globally developed student-athletes entering the American college system.
